Do you feel weighted down with worry? Does uncertainty and chaos keep you up at night? Are irrational fears your constant companion? Has life stolen your joy? Although the presence of anxiety is unavoidable, the prison of anxiety is optional. Join us in Ohio's beautiful Amish Country for two days of rest and renewal! As we study the Apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians, we will discover that true joy is within reach, not for lack of problems, but for the presence of a sovereign Lord.
Our Bible Teacher is our very own Foothills District Superintendent, Dennis Miller. Our worship leader will be Justin Williams, pastor of Coburn UMC in Zanesville.
The two-day event will include a time of gathering and welcome on Thursday afternoon followed by worship and session one of our study. We will then share a buffet style meal followed by an entertaining evening with a Broadway-style musical entitled "Josiah for President" at the Ohio Star Theater. Day two begins with a deluxe continental breakfast followed by worship and session two of our study. At the conclusion of the study session participants are free to head home or head out to shop and explore all the attractions the area has to offer.
There are a limited number of rooms so registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Cost includes: Thursday night's lodging at the Carlisle Inn, Amish-style dinner buffet, ticket to the musical, retreat materials and Friday morning continental breakfast.
