Leadership Roles and ResponsibilitiesLOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHIP The local church is an exciting place to be! We are called by God to leave the church building and to help transform our homes, community, region, nation and the world. It is Christ’s love that compels us to make a difference. And yet there has to be some structure, order and stability amidst the ministry and mission we are participating in. It requires some sense of where we are heading, how we are going to get there and who is going to lead us. The United Methodist Church Discipline gives us some boundaries/directions as leaders and committees in order to do our work well. Our administrative work is meant to create an atmosphere where our priority is that of making sure that we maintain an external focus. We hope that you will take the time to read the “job descriptions” for the following key lay leaders:
Administrative Board/Council Chairperson
Lay Member to Annual Conference
We have also included the responsibilities of some key local church committees and hope that you will take the time to read about their obligations:
Pastor/Staff Parish Relations Committee
